A full wardrobe and nothing to wear?

Why so many clothes in the wardrobe but so few outfits?

Perhaps the problem isn't that you need even more clothes

Has this ever happened to you - the wardrobe is full, but in the morning it feels as if there's nothing to wear again?

I hear this very often in my work as a stylist.

And usually the problem isn't that there are too few clothes in the wardrobe.

More often it's full of separate things we liked in the shop, but they don't add up to a wardrobe - one blouse has no trousers to go with it, the lovely skirt doesn't really match anything, and the blazer has been waiting a year for "the right occasion".

That's why, when I build a wardrobe, I never just look at one beautiful piece. I ask a specific question:

What will you wear it with?

Because a good wardrobe isn't one with lots of clothes. It's a wardrobe where a relatively small number of pieces gives you lots of outfits.

Do you already know your style?

What looks great on a friend will not always suit you.
